Keeping with the secular ethos of the school, the students of SLIS, Jagadhri celebrated Gurpurab, (one of the auspicious religious festivals in Sikhism) to mark the Parkash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev Ji on 22 November 2018 (Thursday).

The students of Pre Primary and Primary school prepared a medley of activities on this occasion to commemorate and remember the birth and philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

The assembly commenced with the recitation of the first pauri of ‘Jap ji Sahib’ followed by ‘Special Prayer’ along with ‘Shabads’ and recitation of 'Chaupai Sahib' Path.

Mrs Simranjeet Kaur(PGT) explained the students about life sketch of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Mrs Brahmkanti (TGT) also recited a shabad. Our Cultural Secretary Palwinder Singh of Grade XI throw some light on the teachings of Guru Sahib.

Vice Principal Dr G.B. Gupta commemorate the symbolic importance of this religious festival for the entire Sikh Community. The Assembly was concluded with the blessings and explanation of Sarbat Daa Bhala by Mr Ravinder Singh (Principal,SLIS).
